UCL DFS Lineup Picks for DraftKings (10/25/23) - Champions League Soccer Matchweek 3 Day 2

Brandon's DraftKings UCL DFS lineup picks for Champions League Soccer on 10/25/23 (Matchweek 3 Day 2). His top daily fantasy soccer forwards, midfielders, defenders, goalkeepers.

Welcome back to “The Kick-Off” and welcome to the 23-24 season! Finally, a new season is here and we can welcome back our beloved Futbol. Many clubs have made big moves this offseason to help bolster their cup chances. Will an English club take home the coveted Champions League final on home turf?

The top favorite this week is Manchester City -600 at BSC Young Boys +1500. I will guide you through this five-match slate starting at 3:00 P.M. EST.

If you have any questions on today's slate, bankroll management, GPP strategy, Cash game strategy, or anything else, don’t hesitate to email me at [email protected], via Twitter @df_solutions, or in our Discord chat rooms.

UCL DFS Goalies

Goalies

Diogo Costa - DK $5K || FD $10

Opponent - FC Porto

There is little to no value at goalies on this slate compared to what was on yesterday’s slate and Costa is the closest thing to it. Royal Antwerp struggling so far this season is an understatement. In their last eight matches in all competitions, they have won just twice and they have been outscored in that time frame 11 to 12 and have been shut out four times. Furthermore, in those eight matches at home, they are 1-1-3. FC Porto is nothing to write home about, although, they are grinding out their matches compared to Antwerp. This match is expected to be a low-scoring affair with FC Porto grinding out another close win.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Oblak (DK $5.2K || FD $11), Butez (DK $4.5K || FD $9)

UCL DFS Forwards

Julian Alvarez - DK $10.6K || FD $24

Opponent - BSC Young Boys

To no surprise, Julian Alvarez is the featured striker with Manchester City the largest favorite on the slate. In two appearances in the Champions League(one start), he has three goals, an assist, nine shots, eight created chances, eight crosses, 10 corners, and two tackles. In his last five matches in domestic play, he has two goals, two assists, 13 shots, seven created chances, 20 crosses, 11 corners, four tackles, and three clearances. The Young Boys are averaging 2.0 Goals Against Per 90 throughout their first two matches of Group Stage. With City surging in all competitions and Alvarez the main set-piece taker, expect a big outing for him here.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Dembele (DK $9.2K || FD $18), Sesko (DK $4.3K || FD $17)

UCL DFS Midfielders

Matt O’Riley - DK $5K || FD $18

Opponent - Atletico Madrid

As the sole set-piece taker for Celtic, O’Riley has surpassed value in each match thus far. Although his salary has risen quite a bit, he still has an opportunity to reach value today. Throughout his first two matches of the UCL this season, he has an assist, two shots, six created chances, six crosses, five corners, seven tackles, an interception, five clearances, and a block. Celtic are not in the best of form and luckily neither they nor Atletico are big-scoring clubs. This match will be accompanied by a low goal total and due to the close game, O’Riley is expected to be heavily involved.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Brandt (DK $7.3K || FD $17), Pulisic (DK $7.1K || FD $16)

UCL DFS Defenders

David Raum - DK $5.9K || FD $13

Opponent - Crvena Zvezda

Many will be on Newcastle United wingback Kieran Trippier and for good reason. Red Bull Leipzig midfielder Danny Olmo is expected back for this match and it may eat into Raum’s value as a set-piece taker. Even with the concerns, Raum is an optimal play at defense. In his two matches in the UCL this season, he has one assist, three created chances, 12 crosses, eight corners, three tackles, three interceptions, seven clearances, and a block. Over his last five domestic fixtures, he has a goal, five shots, four created chances, 41 crosses, 15 corners, nine tackles, three interceptions, and nine clearances. It is very evident that Raum is a key piece to this Red Bull squad and as a heavy favorite, he has a chance of a clean sheet bonus as well.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Trippier (DK $7.6K || FD $16), Mario (DK $3.5K || FD $11)

Corner Takers

  • BSC Young Boys: Ugrinic/Elia
  • Manchester City: Alvarez
  • Celtic: O’Riley
  • Atletico Madrid: Griezmann
  • Paris Saint-Germain: Dembele
  • AC Milan: Pulisic
  • Newcastle United: Trippier
  • Borussia Dortmund: Brandt
  • Red Bull Leipzig: Raum/Olmo
  • Crvena Zvezda: Kanga/Bukari
  • Royal Antwerp: Balikwisha
  • FC Porto: Galeno/Wendell

Thanks for reading The Kick-Off. Good luck in all of your contests today!
