Top Quarterback Waiver Wire Pickups and Streamers for Week 7: Jimmy Garoppolo, Matt Ryan, Daniel Jones, Marcus Mariota

Matt Ryan - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Dan's fantasy football quarterback waiver wire pickups for Week 7 of the 2022 NFL season. His free agent QBs to add and QB streamers for 1QB and 2B leagues.

Week 6 is just a Monday night football game away from completion and the story is mostly the same: offenses are struggling to put up points in the 2022 season. Just eight teams had over 25 points in Week 6.

It's been a similar struggle for fantasy quarterbacks to start the year. Just six players (Matt Ryan, Patrick Mahomes, Teddy Bridgewater, Josh Allen, Bailey Zappe, and Joe Burrow) had over 300-passing yards in Week 6. Only Ryan, Allen, and Burrow threw for three scores. Fantasy managers will also be scrambling to fill the bye week quarterback void of Josh Allen, Kirk Cousins, and Jalen Hurts (and also Matt Stafford I guess).

In this article, I will look at the fantasy football waiver wire for quarterback pickups and streamers, focusing on players under 65% rostered in fantasy leagues while adding a couple of deep sleepers for two-quarterback leagues (less than 25% rostered).

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Single-QB League Waiver Wire Options

Jimmy Garoppolo, San Francisco 49ers

Yahoo: 39% rostered

Jimmy Garoppolo is what he has always been for the 49ers: A strong game manager who can put up big passing days if his receiving weapons get loose. Jimmy G now has three straight games with at least 15.0 fantasy points. He’s had back-to-back games with at least 250 passing yards and two touchdowns.

Nobody will feel great about Jimmy Garoppolo headlining their fantasy team, but he does provide a safe floor to navigate bye weeks over the next two weeks. San Francisco should be forced to throw the ball in Week 8 keeping pace with the Chiefs and then get a game against a bad Rams defense in Week 9.

Matt Ryan, Indianapolis Colts

Yahoo: 28% rostered

Matt Ryan has lost something off his passes, but like Jimmy Garoppolo, he is still capable of providing a solid enough fantasy floor. Ryan has scored at least 15.0 fantasy points in four of six weeks this season, although both of his bad performances resulted in under 10 fantasy points.

More importantly, the Colts are facing two very easy matchups that should give Ryan the floor we need to fill in for a bye week the next two weeks. Indianapolis will face the Tennessee Titans for the second time in Week 7. Ryan threw for 356 yards and two touchdowns in their first matchup.

Then, the Colts have a fantastic matchup against a terrible Washington secondary. The Commanders are still allowing 19.1 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks despite a recent matchup against a terrible Bears offense.

The Colts offense will have tough days ahead. They still have games against the Patriots, Eagles, Steelers, and Cowboys secondaries before their bye week. But for now, Ryan is a viable bye-week streamer.

Daniel Jones, New York Giants

Yahoo: 30% rostered

Daniel Jones continues to provide a solid fantasy floor despite a complete lack of pass-game weapons in New York. Jones has at least 12.0 fantasy points in all six games this season. However, he’s only scored over 14.0 fantasy points twice this year.

Jones has two great fantasy quarterback matchups coming up in the next two weeks ahead of the Giants' bye week. The Giants will have games against a suspect Jaguars defense before facing off against an exploitable Seahawks secondary.

The Giants' offense is running totally through Saquon Barkley this season, but the team is passing if they need to. The Giants have 27 passing attempts in each of the last two weeks. They have at least 25 passing attempts in four of six games this year.

Two-QB Waiver Wire Options and Stashes

Marcus Mariota, Atlanta Falcons

Yahoo: 14% rostered

The Falcons are content winning through their run game, which has led to modest passing volume in the first six weeks. Marcus Mariota has attempted over 30 passes in just one game this season, and it hasn’t happened since Week 1. However, Mariota has been wildly efficient as a passer and is doing just enough on the ground to give him fantasy value. The Falcons’ quarterback has at least 14.0 fantasy points in five of six games this year. He’s had at least 17.0 points in each of his last two games thanks to an uptick in rushing.

In the last two weeks, Mariota has at least six rushing attempts and 50 rushing yards. He also added a rushing score in a surprising win against the 49ers on Sunday. The schedule for the Falcons looks good in the upcoming weeks as well. Mariota will have two solid matchups against the Bengals and Panthers in the next two weeks before a rough faceoff with the Chargers in Week 9.

He’s worth stashing for the long term with matchups against the Panthers, Bears, and Commanders from Weeks 10-12.
