BALLER MOVE: Sit in 12+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: TE2
ANALYSIS: New Orleans Saints tight end Taysom Hill is not your traditional pass catcher. The do-it-all veteran is more of a running back than a tight end. Yet, most fantasy football platforms list Hill as only a tight end. The veteran is the TE10 for the year, averaging 8.8 half-point PPR fantasy points per game.
Hill has 26 receptions on 30 targets for 229 receiving yards and a touchdown. By comparison, he has 70 rushing attempts for 346 yards and four touchdowns this season. The veteran is the team’s de facto No. 2 running back behind Alvin Kamara.
Last week, Hill didn’t play because of foot and hand injuries but will play tomorrow against the New York Giants. The so-called tight end has had at least seven rushing attempts in four of his past five contests, averaging 41.2 rushing yards per game in those matchups.
The Giants have held tight ends to the fourth-fewest fantasy points per game this year. However, they have surrendered the eighth-most fantasy points per game to running backs.
While the RotoBaller rankings don’t believe Hill is startable in 12-team leagues, I believe fantasy players can trust the New Orleans tight end as a low-end TE1 in Week 15.
