BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 36% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Before we get started, let me tell you what happened last Sunday in a few words around the Ravens squad: Lamar Jackson got banged up and forced out of the W14 game. That, obviously, is supposed to impact Baltimore's wideouts if only on paper, so if you're not truly needy of WR help you might want to give yourself some pause before jumping on Rashod Bateman in advance of next week's game.
That said, and assuming Lamar is fine/available, Bateman can be a masterful late-season/postseason addition for those fighting for the fantasy cheap. Bateman has featured in between 45% and 70% of the Ravens' offensive snaps since his debut back in Week 6. He's coming off logging a 65-percent snap share this past Sunday against Cleveland and, of course, reaching his highest PPR score of the year with 17.3 fantasy points for a WR2/top-24 finish at the position.
Bateman was absolutely efficient on Sunday catching 7 of 8 targets for 103 yards, only missing on scoring his first touchdown on the year. I'm not saying he will find pay dirt ROS, but he should given he's gotten 6+ targets in six of eight games played, he's catching 4 passes per week, and he's averaging 50+ yards a pop. I concede Marquise Brown is the clear-cut WR1 of the team, but Bateman has done more than enough (and is playing the second-most snaps) to consider him the WR2 of the Ravens above Sammy Watkins. For the super-high availability and the nice upside, adding Bateman ROS feels like a no-brainer decision to me even in the slightest of deep leagues.
