Za'Darius Smith's Versatility Makes Him Deadly
5 years agoGreen Bay Packers linebacker/edge rusher Za'Darius Smith had the most quarterback pressures (71) last season, according to Next Gen Stats. He was also able to pressure opposing signal-callers at the second-highest overall rate in the NFL (14.8 percent) among those with a minimum of 250 pass rushes. Smith has the ability to line up on the edge and on the interior, too, which makes him extremely hard to game plan for. The 27-year-old was an excellent free-agent pickup for Green Bay in 2019, as he made the Pro Bowl for the first time with 55 tackles (41 solo), a career-high 13.5 sacks, 17 tackles for loss and 37 QB hits. But because he's more of a one-dimensional edge-rushing linebacker, he's hard to recommend as a weekly IDP starter at his position.
