The Seattle Mariners selected Texas A&M outfielder Zach DeLoach with the sixth pick of the second round (43rd overall) in the 2020 MLB draft on Thursday. DeLoach didn't play all that well in his two seasons in college but won the 2019 Cape Cod batting title by hitting .353 and hit .421 with six homers in 18 games this spring before the season was shut down. The left-handed hitter can be streaky, but he has been good at controlling the strike zone and making consistent contact. DeLoach showed more speed this spring, which could help him remain in center field as a pro, but average instincts on defense might move him to a corner spot.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
