Yu Darvish To Be Pushed Back In Rotation
2 years agoSan Diego Padres starting pitcher Yu Darvish is now likely to make his first start of 2023 until the fifth or sixth game due to concerns about his build up for the regular season while pitching for Team Japan in the World Baseball Classic. Darvish was originally the favorite to start on Opening Day against the Colorado Rockies on March 30, but that won't happen now. Even when the 36-year-old right-hander makes his first start of the year for the Padres, he may be somewhat limited from a pitches/innings perspective, making him more risky in DFS. But heading into this season from a fantasy perspective, Darvish boosted his stock with one of the best years of his career for the Friars in 2022.
