Sammy Blais Injured Versus Blues
Toronto Maple Leafs left wing Sammy Blais (undisclosed) made an early exit from Tuesday's contest against the St. Louis Blues and was coughing up blood, Luke Fox of Sportsnet reports. Blais jumped into the lineup to replace Matthews Knies (lower body), but he was limited to 6:31 of ice time in a 3-2 overtime win. Blais recorded an assist on Toronto's second goal. He now has two points (one goal, one assist) in six contests this season. Four of Blais' appearances have come in the past five games, so he has become a regular in the lineup recently, and his injury is bound to have an impact on Toronto's plans going forward.
