1 year agoChicago White Sox manager Pedro Grifol said that he's unsure if third baseman Yoan Moncada (back) will require a trip to the injured list. Moncada is out of the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Dodgers due to a recurring back issue, so the White Sox may give him some extended time off to recover. It could be a big reason for his struggles at the plate in 2023 as well, as the 28-year-old Cuban switch-hitter is batting a disappointing .232 (32-for-138) with eight doubles, a triple, three home runs, 13 RBI and a weak .279 on-base percentage in 147 plate appearances and 38 games. Jake Burger is at third base and is hitting fifth on Wednesday against Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw.
