Max Shabanov Returns From 12-Game Absence Sunday
New York Islanders right wing Max Shabanov (upper body) has been cleared to return from a 12-game absence on Sunday against the Colorado Avalanche. He last played on Oct. 21, missing time due to an upper-body injury. Although Shabanov was an outstanding offensive player in the KHL, he has yet to make a significant impact in his first NHL campaign. Across six outings, Shabanov has produced one goal and two assists. In Sunday's game, Shabanov will likely also find it tough to make a mark, as he will be limited to a fourth-line role.
