Yankees Could Be Interested In Cole Hamels
Cole Hamels. Starting pitching is New York's biggest area of need and sources indicate that Hamels is one of the pitchers the Yankees are evaluating. The left-hander is 1-3 with a 10.23 ERA in his last five starts, though, and has a 4.72 ERA and 1.37 WHIP overall. Hamels is making $22.5 million this year with a club option of $20 million next year. The Rangers are willing to eat some of Hamels contract in order to work out a trade. Perhaps he just needs a change of scenery, but Hamels hasn't been trustworthy for fantasy owners this year, and a move to the Bronx and another hitter-friendly park probably wouldn't be ideal.
