Ubaldo Jimenez Doesn't Want To Retire
4 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez, who wasn't included on the team's summer camp roster, said that he wants to continue his career. The veteran right-hander was a star for Colorado from 2006 to 2011, but he hasn't pitched in the big leagues since 2017 as a member of the Orioles. The 36-year-old Dominican was known for his funky delivery, and he was an All-Star in 2010 when he went 19-8 with a 2.88 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, 214 strikeouts and 92 walks in 33 starts (221 2/3 innings). Jimenez is unlikely to have much of a market for his services at this point in his career, and it's unlikely that he'll be fantasy relevant if another team gives him a shot.
