Tyler O'Neill Scratched With Shoulder Discomfort
Tyler O'Neill (shoulder) was scratched from Friday's starting lineup against the Washington Nationals due to left-shoulder discomfort. O'Neill first felt it in the batting cage a few days ago, but it was especially sore on Friday. Manager Brandon Hyde said that O'Neill is being considered day-to-day. With the 29-year-old sitting out, Ramon Laureano got the start in left field for the O's and was hitting in the cleanup spot against Nationals left-hander MacKenzie Gore. While it doesn't sound like a serious injury, it's not great news for a player that was just activated from the injured list last Friday after a two-week absence due to neck inflammation. O'Neill has a nice power/speed combination, but he has trouble staying healthy and is hitting just .188 (15-for-80) with two homers, 10 RBI, nine runs and two steals in his first 24 games as an Oriole in 2025.
