3/18:After being scratched from his start on Monday due to the flu, Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow returned to the mound on Sunday. Vying for the fifth spot in the Pittsburgh Pirates starting rotation, the right-hander rebounded nicely from his worst start of the spring on March 7, allowing one run in 4 2/3 innings. Glasnow fanned six Red Sox hitters while allowing five hits and two walks. The 24-year-old has elite stuff, as his 19 strikeouts in 12 1/3 spring innings indicate, but control has largely held him back. However, he has done a better job of hitting the zone this spring, walking five thus far. Based on his prospect pedigree, Glasnow may have a leg up on Steven Brault and Joe Musgrove if he continues to improve his command. With the Pirates not needing a fifth starter until April 8, though, the Pirates will not be in any rush to name the fifth starter. Without urgency for Pittsburgh, Glasnow is nothing more than a late-round draft pick for fantasy managers.--Matt Wilkes - RotoBaller
