Tyler Alexander To Start Game 2 Of Doubleheader
3 years agoDetroit Tigers left-hander Tyler Alexander will start the second game of the team's doubleheader against the Minnesota Twins on Saturday. In 26 appearances (two starts) over 39 2/3 innings for the Tigers this year, Alexander has a 4.31 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 36/10 K/BB. This will be a bullpen game for Detroit, so Alexander shouldn't be expected to go more than an inning or two to open the game. The 27-year-old southpaw has gone a total of 3 2/3 innings in his two starts in 2021 and has allowed one solo home run. There is just no upside here as an opener, so fantasy managers should avoid Alexander everywhere.
