6 years agoSan Jose Sharks defenseman Brent Burns tallied two power-play assists in Thursday's win against the Sabres. Burns now has six assists and 3 power-play points in seven games this season but has yet to score a goal. The pile of assists that he has collected keeps him among the elite fantasy defensemen, but his declining shot rate is concerning. Burns finished last season averaging 4.05 shots per game but averages only 2.71 shots per game this year. Obviously, it is still early in the season but that trend is something to keep an eye on and if it continues he could be a good sell-high option.--Russ Ivanac - RotoBaller
