Trey Lance Avoids Compound Fracture
2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Trey Lance (ankle) had successful surgery on Monday morning for a fractured and dislocated ankle, according to a source. The good news is he avoided a compound fracture like Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott's a few years ago. Lance will still miss the rest of the 2022 season after getting injured early in the Week 2 win over the Seattle Seahawks. The 22-year-old officially suffered a fractured fibula and ligament disruption to his right ankle. The Niners are confident that he'll recover and be ready for the 2023 campaign. In the meantime, San Francisco is happy they ended up hanging onto Jimmy Garoppolo, as he'll return to starting duties the rest of the way. Fantasy managers in need of a QB upgrade in two-QB leagues should absolutely look at picking Jimmy G up off waivers this week.
