T.J. Watt Has Established Himself As A Top Linebacker
5 years agoPittsburgh Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt was ranked by Pro Football Focus as their best edge defender in 2019 among those with a minimum of 300 snaps. He was able to sack opposing quarterbacks on 3.2 percent of his pass rushes, which ranked fifth among edge defenders with a minimum of 300 pass rushes, per Next Gen Stats. Watt doesn't rack up a ridiculous amount of tackles like some linebackers, but he does have 34.5 sacks, 177 combined tackles, 36 tackles for loss, 70 QB hits, three interceptions, 18 passes defensed, 15 forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries in his three seasons in the NFL. His ability to get to the QB regularly and make plays all over the field will make him a highly coveted IDP linebacker on the rise.
