Steelers Optimistic On Long-Term Deal With Le'Veon Bell
7 years agoPittsburgh Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert is hoping the team will reach a long-term deal with impending free-agent running back Le'Veon Bell by March 6, which is the last day to designate a franchise player. The team has spoken to Bell's representatives at the NFL combine to "try to figure out common ground." There remains much more optimism on signing Bell to an extension than there was last season. His per-game average of 129 yards from scrimmage since 2013 is the most by an NFL player in the first five years of a career since 1970. Bell is the most dynamic running back in the NFL and should be the top overall fantasy selection in 2018.
