5 years agoThe Oakland Athletics will call up third base prospect Sheldon Neuse to take the spot of Khris Davis on the active roster, according to a source. Davis went on the paternity list on Wednesday and will miss a few days. Neuse is the team's No. 8 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, and was hitting an impressive .317/.389/.550 with 27 home runs and 102 RBI in 126 games for Triple-A Las Vegas. The 24-year-old should stick around when rosters expand this Sunday, but it remains to be seen how much playing time he'll actually receive in the final month.
