Shane Baz Expected To Throw In 3-4 Weeks
2 years agoTampa Bay Rays right-hander Shane Baz (elbow) has joined the team in camp and has been progressing well from late-September Tommy John surgery. He expects to start throwing in three to four weeks. The 23-year-old has a bright future for the Rays, but fantasy managers can forget about him in redraft leagues for the 2023 season, as he'll miss the entire year. But even when he returns in 2024, Baz will likely have workload restrictions that will limit his fantasy ceiling. He threw a career-high 92 innings in 2021 and has only thrown 40 innings as a major-league starter. Baz is still worth holding in keeper/dynasty formats, but we may not see his true ceiling until 2025.
