Seiya Suzuki To Be Posted This Offseason
3 years agoJapanese star right fielder Seiya Suzuki will be posted this offseason by the Hiroshima Toyo Carp of Nippon Professional Baseball and made available to major league clubs, according to a source. The 27-year-old will compete with Starling Marte as one of this winter's top available free-agent outfielders after he's been a five-time All-Star in Japan. He had career-highs in OPS (1.079) and home runs (38) in 131 games for the Carp this year, and he's earned comparisons to Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. for his patience, power and base-stealing ability as a right-handed hitter. After Suzuki is posted, MLB teams will have 30 days to negotiate a contract with him. Among the potential suitors for Suzuki could be the New York Mets and Texas Rangers.
