Scott Oberg Records Second Save
6 years agoColorado Rockies temporary closer Scott Oberg looked like he was going to have the day off on Saturday after the Rockies took a four-run lead into the ninth inning, but a rocky outing for Carlos Estevez meant Oberg had to come in to nail down the last out with the tying run at the plate. Oberg had a couple early struggles after taking over the closing role from the injured Wade Davis, but he seems to have settled into it over his last few outings and has now recorded two saves in four days. Oberg has been a dominant reliever this season and should be a decent candidate for saves on a temporary basis, but Davis is making strides towards returning, so the end is likely in sight.
