Ryan Yarbrough Rocked Sunday
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Ryan Yarbrough had a tough go of it on Sunday, allowing seven runs in seven innings on 10 hits in a 9-7 loss to the Minnesota Twins. He walked two and struck out four. Yarbrough was coming off two solid outings after getting called back up late in May, allowing a combined two runs in 11 innings. However, they were somewhat of a mirage with just five strikeouts in that time, and Sunday's start showed the downside. Yarbrough was credited with 16 wins last season thanks to his role as a follower for Tampa Bay's openers, but he now has a 6.23 ERA this year and should be avoided in most formats.
