Ryan Newman starts from the 28th position which should make him advantageous from a place differential standpoint. However, the last two speedway races in Vegas and Phoenix have seen Newman tumble backwards on the track (-5 and -7 respectively). More troubling is that in those races, the Roush Fenway Racing driver had been mired in the 30's at points at Vegas and Phoenix.
