Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Ryan McDonagh scored a goal and added two assists during a 7-3 win over the Florida Panthers. He was a plus-three with two shots and a block in 20:30 of ice time. McDonagh has had a strong start to the season with two goals, 14 assists, 27 hits, 43 shots, 47 blocks, and a plus-12 rating. The biggest hindrance to McDonagh's fantasy value is the fact that he does not see any time on the power play. With that in mind, his ability to put up stats in periphery categories makes up for it. The Lightning are the highest scoring team in the league and McDonagh routinely plays over 20 minutes a night. He is particularly valuable in banger leagues and should be owned in any format with more than 10 teams.--Raymond Harrison - RotoBaller
