Ryan Jeffers Has Three-Hit Rehab Game
2 years agoMinnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers (thumb) went 3-for-4 with a double, home run, three RBI and two runs scored in his minor league rehab game for Triple-A St. Paul on Monday night. Jeffers still has a little bit of time to return to the major-league roster for the Twins, who are close to being eliminated from postseason contention. The 25-year-old backstop has been out since having surgery to fix a fractured right thumb in the middle of July. Before his injury, he was slashing just .214/.291/.375 with seven home runs, 25 RBI and 23 runs scored in 214 plate appearances over 60 games in his third major-league season.
