Coming off of an eighth-place finish in the season-opening Daytona 500, Ryan Blaney and his No. 12 Team Penske team will be looking to build on that momentum in the Pala Casino 400 at Auto Club Speedway this weekend. Over six career starts in the Cup Series at this track, Blaney has been able to post three top-10 finishes as well as a career-best fifth-place result in the 2019 version of this race. He's also finished inside the top nine in each of the last six stages at Auto Club. In last year's race at this track, Blaney was a legitimate top-five contender but had pit-road issues throughout the race that relegated him to an 18th-place result. He had the fourth-best green-flag speed in that race, though, and if this No. 12 team can show up with similar speed at Auto Club this weekend, Blaney is poised for another strong run to start out his 2023 campaign.--Jordan McAbee
