Royce Freeman In Danger Of Being Cut
3 years agoDenver Broncos running back Royce Freeman might need to show out in training camp this summer if he wants to remain on the team's final 53-man roster. The Broncos haven't kept four running backs in their cutdown to 53 players since 2017. Rookie Javonte Williams is expected to get plenty of work alongside Melvin Gordon III in his first season, and first-year general manager George Paton also brought in Mike Boone, who he is familiar with from their time in Minnesota. Even as the third back behind Gordon and Phillip Lindsay in 2020, Freeman saw a career-low 35 carries for 170 yards and no touchdowns over a full season of work. So even if Freeman does somehow manage to stick on the roster, he will be well off the fantasy radar.
