The Colorado Rockies selected The Woodlands High School catcher Drew Romo with the 35th overall pick in the 2020 MLB draft on Wednesday. Romo is a great defensive backstop for a high-schooler and has also shown improvement in the last year with his offensive profile. His soft hands, advanced receiving skills and a strong arm with a quick release make him a Gold Glove candidate down the road. At the plate, the 18-year-old is a switch-hitter with a better pure swing from the left side. He will give the Rockies more contact and on-base ability than pure power. Romo's high baseball IQ and work ethic could make him an underrated prospect at the next level.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
