Roberto Perez Has Surgery On Ankle
5 years agoCleveland Indians catcher Roberto Perez (ankle) underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on Wednesday to remove bone spurs from his right ankle. He is expected to be ready for spring training next year. The 30-year-old is coming off a career year for the Tribe in which he hit 24 home runs and drove in 63 runs while throwing out more than 40 percent of attempted base stealers. He caught more than 100 games without allowing a single passed ball. He was a resounding success in his first year as a full-time starter in Cleveland, and his excellent season has earned him the starting job heading into 2020.
