Rick Porcello Solid In Blowout Win
5 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Rick Porcello went six innings, while allowing three runs on six hits to go with five strikeouts and one walk in Thursday's 19-3 win over the Yankees. The righty used 112 pitches to earn his ninth win of the year, thanks to an offensive explosion by the Boston lineup. Although he served up a home run for the fifth straight start, Thursday also marked the first time he didn't allow at least four runs over the same span. Next, Porcello gets the nod against the Rays at home, where he is 6-4 with a 5.06 ERA in 12 starts. It's not an easy matchup by any means, but you can sit him with confidence and hope he performs well to start an upward trend into August.
