Rhamondre Stevenson Dealing With Dislocated Thumb
3 years agoNew England Patriots rookie running back Rhamondre Stevenson (thumb) suffered a dislocated thumb in practice last week, according to a source. However, there is optimism that he should be OK to play in the season opener on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. We'll keep a close eye on the rookie's practice participation this week leading up to Sunday's first regular season contest. The fourth-round pick stands at 6-foot, 227 pounds and figures to be a short-yardage weapon for the Patriots this year, especially with quarterback Cam Newton and running back Sony Michel no longer around. Stevenson could be eased in early on in his first season in the NFL, and his role in this backfield isn't entirely clear, but he's one injury away from potential steady work. The 23-year-old won't be an intriguing play in Week 1, but he's worthy of a bench stash in most leagues.
