Rasmus Sandin Hurt in Saturday's Win
Washington Capitals defenseman Rasmus Sandin injured his right leg in Saturday's 6-3 win over Pittsburgh, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports. It's unclear whether Sandin can play in Sunday's rematch between the teams. The Swedish blue-liner is attempting to post his second straight 30-point campaign. Across 72 appearances, he has managed five goals, 24 assists, 89 SOG, 127 blocks, and 87 hits. While losing Sandin for Sunday's action would be a blow for the Capitals, they have plenty of potential replacements to choose from. Dylan McIlrath, Declan Chisholm, and Timothy Liljegren are all itching to get back into the lineup after being healthy scratches for long spells.
