Rashod Bateman 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook: Boom-Bust WR5
Rashod Bateman with a three-year, $36.75 million contract extension, tying him to the team through the 2029 season. Despite just a 13-reception increase from 2024, Bateman more than doubled his yardage to accrue a 45/756/9 line in his first full campaign as a pro. He placed second on the Ravens in yards, targets, and touchdowns, and finished with the fifth-highest yards per reception mark in the league (16.6). Bateman was productive, considering Baltimore ran the ball at the second-highest rate behind the Eagles. Still, a large portion of that production came from trips to the end zone. The 25-year-old is a solid NFL wideout, but it's fair to wonder if he can yield a TD figure that high on a yearly basis. To further ding the case for Bateman, the Ravens added significant pass-catching depth with veteran wideout DeAndre Hopkins. Hopkins should improve the WR corps as a whole, and he isn't the same caliber of receiver he once was. Still, he's far superior target competition than Nelson Agholor or Tylan Wallace were a season ago. Bateman would likely be a valuable fantasy option if he were on an offense with a propensity to throw the ball more. For now, he's a volatile, low-floor asset that could have some nice spike weeks alongside running mate Zay Flowers. The 25-year-old is RotoBaller's PPR WR53 and carries more value in dynasty and best ball formats than your typical redraft.
