Rashid Shaheed Will Be Ready For Week 1
4 months agoNew Orleans Saints wide receiver Rashid Shaheed (toe) will be ready for Week 1 of the 2024 regular season when the team takes on the division-rival Carolina Panthers, according to a source. Hamstring and toe injuries caused Shaheed to miss the majority of training camp and the preseason this summer, but his toe injury will not keep him off the field to open the year in early September. The 25-year-old has been an inconsistent fantasy producer mainly as a deep threat in the Saints' inconsistent offense, and he also provides real-life value as a punt and kick returner on special teams. Shaheed really didn't see an increase in targets last year after Michael Thomas went down with another season-ending injury, but things could change under new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak as they look to get WR1 Chris Olave some help. Treat Shaheed as a WR5/flex with potential upside if his role grows in 2024.
