Kansas City Royals infielder Ramon Torres played his first game of 2018 on Thursday, and he was the catalyst for one of the most exciting moments in the game. Torres hit a seeing-eye single up the middle that was promptly missed entirely by Delino DeShields and rolled out far enough to allow Torres to fly around the diamond and score. Torres is nothing more than an ancillary infielder for the time being, but his contact skills could get him regular looks when the starters get days off. Expect him to compete with Raul Mondesi for one of the middle infield spots either late this season or next year.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
