The Philadelphia Phillies have recalled right-handed reliever David Robertson from Triple-A Lehigh Valley and optioned righty Alan Rangel, the team announced. The 40-year-old Robertson is joining the Phillies' bullpen about three weeks after signing a one-year, $6 million contract with the club. He showed some rust during his tune-up at the Triple-A level, as he surrendered six earned runs on 11 hits with 6:1 K:BB in 5 1/3 innings. However, Robertson has an excellent track record in the majors and remained effective last year while with the Texas Rangers. He ate up 72 innings in 2024 and logged a 3.00 ERA with a 1.11 WHIP, 99:27 K:BB, and 34 holds. He'll now serve as one of the Phillies' setup men in front of closer Jhoan Duran.--Connor Byrne
