Paul Goldschmidt Has Surgery On Right Elbow
4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals first baseman Paul Goldschmidt (elbow) had a bone spur removed from his right elbow, and general manager John Mozeliak said that Goldschmidt is progressing well. The right-handed power bat played 58 of a possible 60 games during the 2020 regular season and batted .304 with an .883 OPS, so his elbow clearly didn't bother him during the season. The 33-year-old was a bit of a disappointment in his first season with the Red Birds in 2019, but he was able to bounce back and ease fantasy managers' minds entering the 2021 season. Goldschmidt should once again be a premier power bat at the first base position next year.
