4 years agoThe New England Patriots selected Alabama quarterback Mac Jones with the No. 15 overall pick in the first round of the 2021 NFL draft on Thursday night. It couldn't have gone any better for head coach Bill Belichick in the first round on Thursday, as they didn't even have to trade up into the top 10 to get their quarterback of the future. The Pats have Cam Newton on another one-year deal in 2021, but Jones should take over in 2022. He's a prototypical pocket passer, which Belichick surely knows how to develop. Jones is accurate with the football downfield and is great at processing plays pre-snap. He may not be the sexiest dynasty/keeper QB prospect and won't be in play in redraft leagues in 2021, but the fit for Jones couldn't be any better.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
