Patriots Expected To Sign Ezekiel Elliott
1 year agoThe New England Patriots are expected to sign former Dallas Cowboys star running back Ezekiel Elliott to a one-year deal worth up to $6 million after his successful free-agent visit earlier during training camp. Elliott will give the Patriots more backfield help with the 2023 regular season quickly approaching. The 28-year-old looked washed up with Dallas in 2022, posting a career-low 876 rushing yards on 231 carries (career-low 3.8 yards per carry), but he did find the end zone 12 times in 15 regular season games (14 starts). In New England, he's likely to be mostly a short-yardage/goal-line back, which could negatively impact Rhamondre Stevenson's overall fantasy ceiling. It's also bad news for Pierre Strong Jr., Kevin Harris and Ty Montgomery, who are competing for complementary roles behind Stevenson.
