Patrick Mahomes Focusing On Short And Intermediate Passes
3 years agoKansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes focused more on short and intermediate passes during organized team activities and mandatory minicamp after re-watching tape of the Super Bowl loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Mahomes completed 64 percent of his 130 passes between 10 and 20 yards downfield last regular season, but he thinks he can improve on that. Increasing the targets to running backs and tight ends not named Travis Kelce could diversify this offense even more. Mahomes used only 114 of his 570 targets last season on such teammates. Kansas City's offensive line will need to improve from last year, but even with those question marks, Mahomes will be the top fantasy QB off the board in fantasy drafts in 2021.
