The San Francisco Giants selected North Carolina State catcher Patrick Bailey with the 13th overall pick in the 2020 MLB draft on Wednesday. Bailey was taken by the Twins in the 37th round in 2017. The switch-hitting slugger set a school record with 13 home runs in his first season and was named the ACC freshman of the year in 2018. He's strong and has plus raw power from both the left and right sides of the plate, but he also makes consistent contact and can draw his fair share of walks. The first catcher off the board this year can also do it on defense and should at least serve as a backup at the Major League level, but most scouts believe he'll hit enough to be a regular.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
