The Carolina Panthers hired Steve Wilks as their new secondary coach and defensive pass-game coordinator on Wednesday. Wilks will return for his second stint with the Panthers after initially coaching for them in 2012 as the defensive backs coach. He also served as Carolina's assistant head coach from 2015-17 and the defensive coordinator in 2017. Wilks was the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals in 2018, served as the Cleveland Browns defensive coordinator in 2019 and spent last season as the defensive coordinator at the University of Missouri. The 52-year-old will be replacing Jason Simmons, who left for a job with the Las Vegas Raiders on Tuesday. Carolina's secondary was strong in 2021, allowing only 192.1 passing yards per game.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
