Panthers Have Interest In Dwayne Haskins Jr.
4 years agoThe Carolina Panthers are one of several teams to show interest in free-agent quarterback Dwayne Haskins Jr., according to a source. Haskins is unlikely to sign with a team before the end of the 2020 season, but he is receiving interest from several teams after he was released by the Washington Football Team this week. The 15th overall pick in 2019 lost his starting job earlier this year and was then benched in the Week 16 loss to the Panthers before being waived. In 13 starts the last two years, Haskins has gone 3-10 while completing 60.1 percent of his 444 attempts for 2,804 yards, 12 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. The Ohio State alum will have to prove himself as a backup somewhere before getting another shot at a starting gig in the NFL. He can still be stashed in dynasty/keeper leagues, but he's lost what little appeal he had in single-year formats.
