Noah Gragson qualified 35th for Sunday's Mexico City race. This marks his worst starting position in over a year, and he only outqualified Ryan Truex and Katherine Legge, two drivers with next to no experience with the Next Gen chassis. Having said that, Front Row Motorsports clearly has some speed, as Gragson's teammate Todd Gilliland impressively qualified seventh and posted the fastest lap in practice. Gragson did earn his first top-10 finish on a road course in the NASCAR Cup Series this year at Austin, the other Formula One track on the NASCAR schedule, so he seems like a decent long-shot option for this race, especially since he only costs $6,200 in DFS. However, when so many perennial road-course contenders like Christopher Bell, William Byron, Tyler Reddick, and Chris Buescher also qualified poorly, Gragson is probably only worth starting to save money elsewhere.--Sean Wrona - RotoBallerSource: Racing Reference

Although Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was still in the playoffs a couple weeks ago more because he didn't crash than because he actually ran well, he will likely struggle and completely fall out of the playoff picture on the road-course-heavy summer stretch. In 41 road-course starts, Stenhouse only earned a single top-10 finish at Austin in 2023, although he did earn his best finish on a non-oval at the Chicago street race last year when he finished sixth. Road courses are clearly Stenhouse's worst track type, as he has his worst average finish of 22.2 and has only ever led three laps on those tracks, and his 33rd-place starting position is consistent with that. Although he's starting poorly enough and he's cheap enough to possibly consider him as a punt option for DFS, there are still too many better choices.--Sean Wrona - RotoBallerSource: Racing Reference

Not only did Riley Herbst post his best starting position of the season with a 15th-place qualifying run at Mexico City, he shockingly also outqualified both of his 23XI Racing teammates, including perennial road course master Tyler Reddick. Although that seems surprising on the surface since road courses weren't his strongest track type in the Xfinity Series by any means, it's possible some of his experience racing in the Baja 1000 could've carried over here. However, his past NASCAR road course races do not suggest he will be fast enough to maintain that speed and he will likely tank through the field, making him one of the least valuable drivers for DFS play.--Sean Wrona - RotoBallerSource: Racing Reference

Although it's hard to imagine Cody Ware seriously contending anywhere, if there's a place he could, it might be a track like Mexico City. Ware does have more road racing experience than many of the NASCAR Cup Series drivers and even won the 2019-20 Asian Le Mans Series championship in the LMP2 Am class with Gustas Grinbergas, although admittedly, Rick Ware Racing entered the only two full-time cars in that class. Ware has shown bursts of speed on road courses when it rained and there was a lot of rain at Mexico City leading up to this event. With the frequency of cautions, it's unlikely he'll be lapped on track if he stays out of trouble so if RWR tries some wild strategy and it rains, maybe Ware could actually finish much better than his 34th place starting position, but that's still too many maybes to make starting him a serious consideration.--Sean Wrona - RotoBallerSource: Racing Reference

Victory lane for Sunday's Viva Mexico 250 at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City will likely go through Shane van Gisbergen. The Trackhouse Racing driver is the heavy favorite to win this weekend's race according to all sportsbooks, and rightfully so: the No. 88 Chevrolet had the most consistent speed during practice this weekend and SVG also put down the fastest lap in qualifying, which means he will lead the field to the green on race day. Shane is a super elite road course racer and has a Cup Series victory at the Chicago Street Course. He also finished sixth at COTA earlier this season and seventh and second at the Charlotte Roval and Watkins Glen (respectively) last season. He will be the one to beat this weekend in Mexico. --Jordan McAbeeSource: ifantasyrace

In practice at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez this weekend, Christopher Bell looked to be one of the best in the field, as the No. 20 Toyota had the best 10-lap average during the final session on Saturday evening. However, that long-run speed did not translate to qualifying. Bell will start from back in 31st-place when the Viva Mexico 250 goes green on Sunday evening, and that immediately makes him one of the most-obvious DFS plays on this slate. With the high Place Differential upside combined with the fact that Bell is one of the strongest road course racers in the series, the easy pick to make on DraftKings this weekend is Christopher Bell at $10,200. Bell won at COTA earlier this season (another road course) and has posted a podium result in four of the last eight road course races overall. --Jordan McAbeeSource: ifantasyrace

If Tyler Reddick is going to walk away with a good finish in the inaugural Cup Series race at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City on Sunday, the No. 45 team has a lot of work to do. After struggling to find speed in both practice sessions on Saturday, Reddick noted that the 23XI Racing team were a bit confused on how to improve the car, and that they have "a lot of work to do" to get it to be competitive. In qualifying, Reddick ended up 22nd-fastest on the speed chart, a far cry from his typical top-five qualifying efforts on road courses. As far as DFS goes this weekend, Reddick ($9,700 on DraftKings) is still a very viable option despite the lack of speed in practice. He's still an elite road course racer and has high Place Differential upside by starting 22nd. He's a strong DraftKings pick on Sunday despite the lack of speed in practice. --Jordan McAbeeSource: Bob Pockrass

AJ Allmendinger is one of the best road course racers in the NASCAR Cup Series, but he's struggling to find speed this weekend at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City. Allmendinger was just 30th-fastest on the speed chart in the opening practice session of the weekend and then improved to 21st-fastest in the second session. Allmendinger noted that he needed the car to be significantly better for the race on Sunday, and the No. 16 team may have gotten things pointed in the right direction, as Allmendinger qualified in eighth-place for Sunday's Viva Mexico 250. Still, though, the No. 16 Chevrolet doesn't seem to have race-winning speed--at least heading into race day. With his high starting spot and $9,300 salary on DraftKings, Allmendinger is a tournament play for DFS contests this weekend and will likely need to grab a podium finish if he wants to make the optimal lineup--something he hasn't done in the Cup Series since his win at the Charlotte Roval in 2023. --Jordan McAbeeSource: NASCAR.com

Chris Buescher may have qualified back in 16th for Sunday's Viva Mexico 250 at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, but the No. 17 Ford looks to be much better than that in race trim. After qualifying on Saturday, Buescher took to X and commented, Our Fastenal Body Guard isn't starting where we hoped for but it's still bad fast. Felt great in practice, just need to execute all day and put ourselves in position for the final stage." Buescher is one of the premier and most consistent drivers in the Cup Series when it comes to road courses. Over the last 17 races on this track type, Buescher has finished 11th or better 15 times, including a win at Watkins Glen last year. This weekend, he had one of the fastest cars in both practice sessions on Saturday afternoon. At $8,400 on DraftKings, Buescher is a strong DFS play in all formats for the Mexico City race. --Jordan McAbeeSource: Chris Buescher X Account

Sunday at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, Michael McDowell will be looking to have another strong road course run, and it looks like he'll have the car to accomplish that in the Viva Mexico 250. In practice on Saturday, McDowell's No. 71 Chevrolet was the fastest in the first practice session and then wound up qualifying fifth for the much-anticipated race on Sunday. As far as road course tracks go, McDowell is one of the best in the Cup Series, as he won the race at Indy Road Course back in 2023 and has finished eighth or better in 10 of the last 17 races on this track type. Heading into the race on Sunday, McDowell was very optimistic when being interviewed by Matt Weaver, and said that he believes his Spire Motorsports Chevrolet has the speed to contend rain or shine. McDowell ($8,200) is a strong tournament option in DFS contests this weekend, but offers little Place Differential upside since he starts fifth.--Jordan McAbeeSource: Matt Weaver

It was a tale of two practice sessions for Ryan Blaney at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez on Sunday, as the Team Penske driver was just 22nd-fastest in the opening practice of the weekend before posting the fourth-fastest lap in the final session. Overall, lap times out of the No. 12 Ford looked great in that final practice as well, and Blaney should contend for a top-10 finish if he has that same speed on race day. As far as qualifying goes, Blaney wound up 18th-best in that session, which means he has decent Place Differential upside at a relatively cheap price on DraftKings ($7,200). Blaney is a respectable road course racer and has finished 13th or better in seven of the last nine races on this track type. He probably won't challenge for the Viva Mexico 250 win on Sunday, but Blaney is a solid choice to contend for a top-10 finish this weekend.--Jordan McAbeeSource: Jayski

He's never won in the NASCAR Cup Series, and has just one top-five finish to his credit over 123 starts, but Todd Gilliland could be a legitimate dark horse to keep an eye on in this weekend's Viva Mexico 250 at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. Gilliland showed consistent speed during the first practice session of the weekend and then backed that up with the fastest overall lap in the second practice. In qualifying, the No. 34 Ford ended up seventh-fastest, which is where Gilliland will start from in Sunday's race. Earlier this season, the Front Row Motorsports driver was able to post a top-10 finish at COTA (another road course similar to Mexico City), and Gilliland looks poised to challenge for another strong finish this weekend as well. As far as DFS goes, Gilliland is priced at $6,700 on DraftKings and is a very risky DFS pick due to his high qualifying position. Use him sparingly in your lineups. --Jordan McAbeeSource: Pro Football Sports Network

Keep an eye on Zane Smith at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez this weekend. The Front Row Motorsports driver is starting to get into a groove with his new team, with finishes between sixth and 19th in five of the last six races. Additionally, Zane has been respectable in the Cup Series when it comes to road courses, with top-20 results in five of his last six starts on this track type. This weekend, the No. 38 Ford was mid-pack in both practice sessions for the Viva Mexico 250 and Zane will roll off the starting grid from 24th-place on Sunday. However, with a little bit of Place Differential upside and a relatively cheap salary on DraftKings ($6,000), Smith could end up being a very valuable low-dollar DFS play this weekend. Don't shy away from using Zane in your DFS lineups this weekend. --Jordan McAbeeSource: ifantasyrace

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Emmet Sheehan (elbow) will return to the rotation at some point next week, according to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic. Sheehan has been working his way back from Tommy John surgery, and after building up to 63 pitches in his most recent rehab outing, appears ready to return to the majors. It seems likely that Sheehan will begin on a pitch count and, therefore, is unlikely to go deep into games during his first few starts. The 25-year-old showed promise in 2023 before his injury and has some appeal in deeper fantasy formats. Other than that, he is more of a wait-and-see at this point.--Matt Garon - RotoBallerSource: Fabian Ardaya

Texas Rangers starting pitcher Kumar Rocker will start on Sunday against the Chicago White Sox. Rocker will be recalled from Triple-A to make the start in place of Tyler Mahle (shoulder), who is likely headed to the IL. Rocker has been electric in the minors, pitching to a 0.82 ERA and 0.55 WHIP, albeit over just 11 IP. The big leagues have been another story for the 25-year-old, as he owns a horrendous 8.87 ERA and 1.84 WHIP over 23 ⅓ IP. He will get a very good matchup against a bad White Sox lineup, but it is still a very precarious situation. It is best to avoid streaming Rocker in fantasy leagues, at least until he can show us something at the major league level.--Matt Garon - RotoBallerSource: Evan Grant

New York Yankees designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton (elbows) is expected to return to the lineup during the team's series against the Los Angeles Angels, according to manager Aaron Boone. That series starts Monday, but Boone said it's up in the air as to whether he returns in the first game or the second game on Tuesday. Stanton has gone 3-for-11 with a double, a walk, four RBI, and three strikeouts over three rehab games. The 35-year-old hasn't played yet this season due to tennis elbow in both his arms, so he will have a lot of rust to shake off. His playing time could be limited, especially as he eases into the lineup, due to his health issues and the logjam in New York's outfield. Still, Stanton is worthy of a speculative add in anything standard-size or deeper, as his power is undeniable. UPDATE: Boone said he expects Stanton to be in the starting lineup on Monday or Tuesday in the Bronx.--Matt Garon - RotoBallerSource: Bryan Hoch

Baltimore Orioles outfielder Cedric Mullins hit a clutch two-run homer in Saturday's 6-5 win over the Los Angeles Angels. Mullins' homer gave the Orioles a 5-4 lead in the sixth inning, and they wouldn't relinquish it. The veteran outfielder also singled to give himself a two-hit day. Mullins has cooled down after an extremely hot April, but he is still holding his own. He is now hitting .236 with 28 runs, 11 homers, 34 RBI, and eight steals. The 30-year-old is well on his way to another 20-20 season with solid counting stats to boot. With his power/speed combo, he should be owned in most roto leagues.--Matt Garon - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com

Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Cristopher Sanchez looked good on Saturday, holding the Toronto Blue Jays to just two runs over seven frames in a 3-2 win. Sanchez scattered five hits, walked none, and struck out five. Unfortunately for the lefty, he left the game an inning before the Phillies took the lead, so he took a tough-luck no-decision. Sanchez has been terrific in June, allowing just five runs over 20 IP (2.25 ERA). He now owns a 5-2 record, 3.05 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, and 88 strikeouts in 79 ⅔ IP. The WHIP is a little high, but everything else looks great for the 28-year-old. He has earned must-start status in fantasy. Sanchez's next start should come next Thursday in a tasty matchup on the road against the Miami Marlins.--Matt Garon - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com

Oakland Athletics starting pitcher Jacob Lopez was fantastic on Saturday, tossing six shutout innings in a 4-0 win over the Kansas City Royals. Lopez authored his best start of the season in this one, allowing just three hits and walking one while striking out nine. The 27-year-old has been very up and down since moving to the starting rotation in May, but he now has two starts in a row where he hasn't allowed an earned run. His season numbers are a little lacking, as he is 1-4 with a 4.80 ERA and 1.50 WHIP. Lopez has shown the ability to miss bats, though, with 40 punchouts in just 30 IP. His next start is currently scheduled for Thursday against the Houston Astros, but J.T. Ginn could return from the IL before then, which could force Lopez into a long-relief role.--Matt Garon - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com

Athletics outfielder Lawrence Butler hit a long home run in the A's 4-0 win over the Kansas City Royals on Saturday. Butler's seventh-inning solo blast off left-hander Daniel Lynch IV traveled 426 feet over the wall in right-center field. It was his lone knock during a 1-for-4 day and just his second HR against a lefty this season. Although the lefty-hitting Butler has struggled against southpaws, he's still putting together a nice follow-up campaign to his breakout 2024. The 24-year-old is batting .262/.326/.458 with 10 homers, 30 RBI, 11 steals, and 43 runs scored in 301 plate appearances. He has a challenging matchup Sunday against Royals lefty Noah Cameron.--Connor ByrneSource: ESPN

Milwaukee Brewers catcher William Contreras broke an 18-game home run drought Saturday in an 8-5 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals. Contreras, who hadn't homered since May 23, hit a ninth-inning solo shot off right-hander Ryan Helsley for his sixth HR and 31st RBI of the year. He ended the day 1-for-4 with a walk and a strikeout. Unsurprisingly, Contreras' numbers took a noticeable dip during his homer-less skid. The 27-year-old was batting .253/.366/.376 when it began. He's now down to .240/.347/.351 through 285 plate appearances. While Contreras' 2025 production has been a letdown relative to his career output, the two-time All-Star has a valid excuse: He has been playing through a fractured left middle finger that has hampered him at the plate. Contreras has still started in 67 of the Brewers' 72 games in spite of the injury.--Connor ByrneSource: ESPN

Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Eugenio Suarez smacked his 20th home run of the season in the team's 8-7 win over the San Diego Padres on Saturday. Suarez knocked in the Diamondbacks' first three runs of the game with a 410-foot shot off right-hander Ryan Bergert in the bottom of the fourth inning. He also walked and struck out during a 1-for-3 night. The 33-year-old has already gone deep five times and driven in 13 runs in 11 games this month. Suarez is now hitting .231/.307/.518 with 55 RBI in 287 plate appearances. The durable slugger has a legitimate chance at his second career 40-homer campaign and his fourth 100-RBI season.--Connor ByrneSource: ESPN

Minnesota Twins right-hander Joe Ryan turned in yet another strong performance in the team's 3-2 loss to the Houston Astros on Saturday. Ryan did not factor into the decision, but he fired seven innings of two-hit, two-run ball with seven strikeouts and two walks before departing. His only real mistake was the two-run homer he allowed to Astros catcher Yainer Diaz in the third inning. After tallying his seventh quality start of the year, Ryan owns a 2.93 ERA with a superb 89:17 K:BB and a minuscule 0.90 WHIP across 80 innings. He'll make his next start against the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday. Ryan dominated the Brewers on May 16 with six scoreless innings, two hits allowed, and nine strikeouts in a 3-0 win.--Connor ByrneSource: ESPN

Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. smacked his seventh home run of the year in the team's 4-1 win over the Colorado Rockies on Saturday. Acuna's two-run shot off right-hander Chase Dollander gave the Braves a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning. The former MVP also singled, walked, and scored two additional runs in a 2-for-3 day, giving him four consecutive multi-hit games. Acuna continues to make up for lost time after missing most of last season and almost two months this year recovering from a torn left ACL. He has slashed an eye-popping .387/.471/.707 with 13 RBI and 18 runs scored in 87 plate appearances since returning May 23. Acuna will attempt to continue his rampage on Sunday against Rockies lefty Austin Gomber.--Connor ByrneSource: ESPN

The Baltimore Orioles pulled outfielder Tyler O'Neill (shoulder) off his Triple-A rehab assignment on Saturday, according to Jake Rill of MLB.com. He received an injection in his ailing left AC joint and will be shut down for approximately one week. O'Neill went to the 10-day injured list with a shoulder impingement on May 18. He had made progress in his recovery until he began to feel soreness earlier this week. After this latest development, it's clear the 29-year-old won't make an imminent return to the majors. O'Neill pounded 31 home runs with the Boston Red Sox last season, leading the Orioles to hand him a three-year, $49.5 million guarantee in free agency. It hasn't worked out so far. O'Neill has been on the IL twice (once for neck soreness) and has batted just .188/.280/.325 line with two homers in 93 plate appearances. He won't be able to improve on those numbers for the foreseeable future.--Connor ByrneSource: Jake Rill - MLB.com

Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Spencer Strider had seemingly no problems on the mound during Saturday's start against the Colorado Rockies. Strider posted his best performance of the season, which conveniently came against the worst team in baseball. Strider tossed six innings, allowing three hits, one walk, and striking out 13 batters in the win. Honestly, Strider probably could've pitched deeper into this game, but the Braves didn't need him to do that. He'll look to keep the good times rolling in a favorable matchup against the Miami Marlins during his next start.--Andy WebbSource: mlb.com

Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout gave his team the early lead during Saturday's game against the Baltimore Orioles. Trout put his team on the board first with a two-run home run off right-hander Tomoyuki Sugano in the first inning. It marked his second homer since returning from the injured list at the end of May. It has been a slow start to the season for Trout who is slashing .226/.313/.465 with 11 homers and 27 RBI. He finished this game 1-for-3 with a homer, two RBI, and a pair of walks in the loss. Fantasy managers will need to stick with Trout and hope he turns it around.--Andy WebbSource: mlb.com
