Detroit Tigers infield prospect

He began the season on the injured list and spent a six-game stint with Low-A during his rehab assignment, and hit a .235/.350/.352 line. Last summer, the No. 26-ranked prospect in baseball made his High-A debut but struggled during his first 14 games, posting a mere .214 AVG with a .725 OPS. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor McGonigle's progression as he will likely earn the call to Double-A in the coming weeks.

Chicago White Sox left-handed pitching prospect
Noah Schultz tossed 5 2/3 shutout innings during his latest start on Thursday against Double-A Montgomery. In this outing, the left-hander struck out seven batters and allowed just one hit. He served up five walks. Since allowing five runs on May 18, Schultz has been one of the most dominant arms at the Double-A level. During this stretch, the No. 13-ranked prospect in the sport has held a stellar 1.31 ERA with a 1.31 WHIP. Across these 20 2/3 innings, Schultz has struck out 19 batters but struggled with his command, allowing 13 free passes. Through 56 2/3 total innings this season, Schultz has held a 3.34 ERA with a 1.59 WHIP. Fantasy managers should keep an eye on his status as he will likely be in the mix to reach Triple-A later this season.

Baltimore Orioles outfielder
Dylan Carlson was one of the lone bright spots in his team's 4-1 loss to the Detroit Tigers on Thursday. Carlson went 3-for-3 with a solo homer to provide Baltimore's only run in the loss. He ruined the Tigers' shutout with a solo blast in the eighth inning, a shot that traveled 408 feet with an exit velocity of 103.8 MPH. Carlson is now hitting .247 with four homers, seven runs, 12 RBI, and one steal across 73 at-bats this season. He has been swinging a hot bat since a quiet start to the season, hitting .333 with four homers and 10 RBI over his past 15 games, spanning 51 at-bats. He's worth a look as an add in deeper leagues while he's hot at the plate.

San Francisco Giants first base prospect
Bryce Eldridge went 1-for-4 with a home run during their contest against Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday evening. This was Eldridge's second home run since moving up to Triple-A. Through his first eight games with Sacramento this season, Eldridge has struggled, holding a .138/.235/.345 line with a 12:4 K:BB. He received a brief taste of Triple-A last season as well, and posted a .258/.343/.258 line across eight contests. At the start of the season, Eldridge was with Double-A and looked quite comfortable as he held a .280/.350/.512 line with eight doubles, seven home runs, and a 39:13 K:BB. If the top-ranked prospect in the San Francisco system can build off this outing, he could be in the mix to reach the majors early in the second half.

Houston Astros outfielder
Jose Altuve turned in a productive game in his team's 4-3 win over the Chicago White Sox on Thursday. Altuve went 2-for-3 with two doubles, a walk, a run, two RBI, and a stolen base in the one-run win. The veteran notched one of the key at-bats of the game when he gave Houston a 2-1 lead with a two-run double in the third inning. Altuve is now hitting .275 with nine doubles, nine homers, 32 runs, 27 RBI, and six stolen bases across 255 at-bats for the Astros this season. He has fallen off since his prime and is more of a reserve option in deeper fantasy leagues these days.

Texas Rangers outfielder
Sam Haggerty was not in the initial starting lineup but made his mark in a 16-3 win over the Minnesota Twins on Thursday. Haggerty hit a pinch-hit, three-run homer in his only at-bat in the lopsided win. The veteran pinch-hit for
Marcus Semien and launched a three-run shot in the ninth inning, a blast that gave the Rangers their final runs of the game. Haggerty is now hitting .268 with two homers, 13 runs, nine RBI, and five stolen bases across 71 at-bats for the Rangers this season. As a part-time player, Haggerty isn't on the radar in fantasy leagues.

Chicago Cubs right-hander
Ryan Pressly picked up a save in his team's 3-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday. Pressly tossed a scoreless ninth inning without allowing a baserunner on the way to earning his fifth save in as many chances for the Cubs. It was the 36-year-old's first save since April as the Cubs have turned to
Daniel Palencia, who pitched the eighth, as their preferred closer. Pressly now has a 2-2 record, 3.81 ERA, 1.54 WHIP, and 16 strikeouts over 26 innings of work this season. It is likely that the Cubs were just playing the matchups with Pressly and Palencia flipping roles on Thursday. Look for Pressly to return to his setup role moving forward.

San Francisco Giants first baseman
Dominic Smith had a big night in his team's 8-7 loss to the Colorado Rockies on Thursday. Smith went 3-for-4 with a homer, a walk, two runs, and three RBI but it wasn't quite enough in the one-run loss. The veteran launched a three-run homer in the fifth inning to push the Giants' lead to 7-2. Smith signed with the Giants in early June after the New York Yankees released him. He has appeared in eight games, hitting .320 with one homer, three runs, seven RBI, and one stolen base. He will look to stay hot as he gets more at-bats under his belt this season.

Milwaukee Brewers left-handed pitching prospect
Robert Gasser (elbow) is scheduled to face hitters in a live batting practice session in Arizona this week. Gasser, the team's No. 11 prospect per MLB Pipeline, will be facing hitters for the first time this week since having Tommy John surgery last June. The 26-year-old southpaw will be brought along slowly before eventually going on what will be a lengthy minor-league rehab assignment. Even if Gasser doesn't have any setbacks along the way, he probably won't be able to return to the big-league starting rotation until later in the season. He went 2-0 with a 2.57 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 16:1 K:BB in his first five major-league starts last year before getting hurt. For fantasy purposes, he won't really be a valuable contributor until next season, when he should have a great shot to win a rotation spot out of spring training as long as he's healthy.

Milwaukee Brewers manager Pat Murphy said that outfielder
Blake Perkins (shin) is scheduled to report to Triple-A Nashville on June 25 to start his minor-league rehab assignment. Perkins has had a slow go of it during his rehab from a fractured right shin that has kept him out for the entire 2025 season. The 28-year-old is getting close to playing in games again, but that doesn't mean that he'll be ready to rejoin the major-league roster before the All-Star break in mid-July. Perkins, a switch-hitter, was originally a second-round pick by the Washington Nationals in 2015. He made his big-league debut in 2023 with Milwaukee and has hit .234 (123-for-526) with 10 home runs, 63 RBI, 82 runs and 28 stolen bases in 188 games in his two big-league seasons. Given Milwaukee's crowded outfield, the defense-first Perkins figure to be a bench bat with plenty of speed to spare when he comes off the injured list.

Colorado Rockies second base prospect
Adael Amador went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Thursday's 9-8 win over Triple-A Oklahoma City. Amador has been highly productive all season, hitting .306/.394/.482 with four homers and four steals in 99 plate appearances. The 22-year-old was promoted to the majors on April 13 and spent 33 games with the club. He struggled a bit, as he produced just a .465 OPS. Amador has strong contact skills and speed with some pop and should be expected to return to the majors shortly. He'd make for a solid add for managers in need of some stolen bases.

Updating a previous report, Milwaukee Brewers right-handed pitching prospect
Jacob Misiorowski (calf, quadriceps) was pulled from his major-league debut on Thursday night against the division-rival St. Louis Cardinals with cramping in his right calf and quadriceps, according to the team. Despite the cramping issues, Misiorowski dazzled in his debut, throwing five shutout and no-hit innings with four walks and five strikeouts to pick up his first MLB win. The 23-year-old is the club's No. 4 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, and should be able to make his next scheduled start for the Brew Crew. If he isn't already rostered in your league, it's time to scoop him up off the waiver wire. The 6-foot-7, 197-pounder is easily one of the best pitching prospects in the game, with his fastball, curveball and slider all capable of generating plenty of swings and misses.

Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop prospect
Alex Freeland went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, double, and two additional runs scored on Thursday against Triple-A Albuquerque. Freeland was on base four times in this one as he tacked on two walks to stuff the box score. The 23-year-old has had an interesting month of June so far, as he is only hitting .171, but has more walks than strikeouts. His BABIP is just .143 for the month so far, and he is hitting the ball hard at 40.9 percent, so he has just been a bit unlucky. Freeland has good power and a sound approach and should be expected to be promoted to the majors at some point this summer. Depending on what his playing time looks like, he would be a solid speculative add in deeper formats.
