Anthony Richardson To Work With Biometric Coach This Offseason
Anthony Richardson, the fourth overall pick in 2023, dealt with more injuries in his second NFL season in 2024 and did nothing to solidify himself as the long-term franchise QB in Indy. Richardson regressed as a passer, with his completion percentage dropping more than 11% points from his rookie year. In addition, his interceptions went up and there were questions about his off-field preparation, which led to a two-game benching in the middle of the year. The good news is that Richardson is healthy this offseason after missing the last two games of the year with a back injury, and he's already resumed throwing. His work this offseason with include refining his throws and throwing with more touch. Richardson will also be focusing on overall technique and plans to work with biometric expert Chris Hess. If Richardson can stay healthy and improves his footwork and throwing mechanics, he absolutely has QB1 upside in fantasy.Source: ESPN.com - Stephen Holder
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Colts Hiring Lou Anarumo As Defensive Coordinator
Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that the Indianapolis Colts are expected to hire former Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo as their new defensive coordinator. It's a big hire for head coach Shane Steichen's staff, and Anarumo will take over for Gus Bradley, who was fired after the 2024 season. The Colts defense was a disappointment under Bradley this year, falling to 29th in yards allowed per game (361.2). Anarumo also struggled in 2024 with the Bengals -- they finished 26th in point allowed per drive and 30th in red-zone efficiency -- but the 58-year-old coach has built impressive defenses in Cincy in past seasons. He's known for his creativity in disguising coverages and being aggressive with his blitz packages.Colts To Play In First-Ever NFL Game In Berlin In 2025
Source: Indianapolis Colts
The Indianapolis Colts announced on Wednesday that they will play in the NFL's first-ever regular-season game in Berlin, Germany, in 2025. The game in Berlin will be played at the Olympic Stadium as part of a multi-year commitment by the league to playing games in the sports metropolis. The NFL played five American Bowl games at the Olympic Stadium between 1990 and 1994, and the stadium was also home to NFL Europe's Berlin Thunder from 2003-07. The Colts were granted marketing rights in Germany last April as part of an initiative that awards NFL teams international marketing rights to build brand awareness and fandom outside of the United States. The Colts' opponent, game date and kickoff time will be announced when the full 2025 schedule is announced this spring.Colts To Interview Dennis Allen For Defensive-Coordinator Position
Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
The Indianapolis Colts will interview former New Orleans Saints head coach Dennis Allen for their defensive-coordinator position on Friday, according to a source. Allen, who is considered one of the top candidates for defensive coordinator this cycle, will take his time making a decision and is expected to have several options. Indy is looking for a new D coordinator after firing Gus Bradley following the 2024 season. The Saints fired Allen in the middle of the year after starting 2-7. He went 18-25 in his time as the head coach in New Orleans following the departure of Sean Payton. Before becoming the head coach in New Orleans, Allen was the team's defensive coordinator for seven years. Allen was the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders earlier in his career but went 8-28. In addition to Allen, the Colts are looking at Ephraim Banda, Steve Wilks and Lou Anarumo.Michael Pittman Jr. Doesn't Need Surgery On His Back
Michael Pittman Jr. (back) will not require surgery for the fractured back that he played through late in the 2024 season. "One tough dude. Example of what you want," Ballard said. It's a testament to Pittman's toughness that he missed just one game due to his back injury. But the 27-year-old's back issues and inconsistent play from the quarterback position in Indianapolis in 2024 led to Pittman posting only 808 receiving yards -- his fewest since his rookie season in 2020 -- to go with 69 receptions (also his lowest mark since 2020) and only three touchdowns in 16 games. Better health will give him a chance to rebound in 2025, but his overall upside might be dependent on quarterback Anthony Richardson's health and his ability to improve as a passer.Source: FOX 59 - Mike Chappell

Colts To Interview Steve Wilks For Defensive-Coordinator Job
Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero
The Indianapolis Colts are expected to interview long-time NFL coach Steve Wilks for their defensive-coordinator vacancy next week, according to sources. The Colts are searching for a new coach to lead their defense after firing former defensive coordinator Gus Bradley earlier this week. Wilks last served as the San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator in 2023 and helped them reach the Super Bowl while they ranked eighth in total yards allowed and third in total points allowed. While serving as the Arizona Cardinals interim head coach in 2022, he led the team to a 6-6 record to close out the year and went 3-13 as their head coach back in 2018. Wilks' defensive expertise mainly comes in the secondary, having been a defensive backs coach before rising to defensive coordinator. He spent 2024 as a volunteer advisor at the University of Charlotte.Colts To Interview Lou Anarumo For Defensive-Coordinator Job
Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero
The Indianapolis Colts are expected to interview former Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo for their vacant defensive -coordinator position next week, according to sources. The Colts are looking for a new coach to run their defense in 2025 and beyond after firing Gus Bradley earlier this week. Anarumo is available after being fired following his sixth season as the Bengals' defensive coordinator. Under Anarumo this past season, Cincy's defense ranked 25th in the NFL in yards allowed and points allowed, giving up chunk play after chunk play on Sundays. Despite a down year, the 58-year-old was a big part of the Bengals' recent turnaround under head coach Zac Taylor in which they made the franchise's first Super Bowl appearance in 33 years.Colts Fire Defensive Coordinator Gus Bradley
Source: Colts.com
The Indianapolis Colts fired defensive coordinator Gus Bradley on Monday. Bradley served as the team's defensive coordinator the last three seasons. He's been a defensive coordinator or a head coach since 2009 in the NFL. Bradley was the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2013-16 and joined the Colts in 2022 when Frank Reich was the head coach. The Colts defense had plenty of issues in 2024 under Bradley and finished 29th in total defense while allowing 361.2 yards per game. Bradley was also the defensive coordinator with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2021 and for the Los Angeles Chargers from 2017-20. It's unclear if Bradley will receive interest around the league this offseason as he looks for another coaching position in the NFL. The Colts finished a disappointing 8-9 this year and missed the playoffs for the fourth straight year.Anthony Richardson Will Be Colts Starter In 2025
Anthony Richardson (back) will be the team's starter in 2025, according to team sources. Head coach Shane Steichen and general manager Chris Ballard will also get at least one more year to improve the team next season, owner Jim Irsay announced on Sunday night. The Colts missed the playoffs in 2024 for the fourth straight season, which is the club's longest playoff drought since a seven-year streak from 1988-94. Going into his third year in the NFL, Richardson's stock is down considerably with more doubt than ever about his ability to be a franchise QB. He missed the Week 18 regular-season finale with a back injury that he said "might be chronic" and has missed 17 games in his first two seasons due to injury. Richardson finished with the league's lowest completion percentage (47.7), and his 61.6 passer rating is the third-worst by a QB with at least 250 pass attempts since 2010.Source: The Athletic - James Boyd
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Michael Pittman Jr. Dealing With Fracture In His Back
Michael Pittman Jr. (back) admitted that he's been playing through a small fracture in his back. Pittman first noticed it during a joint practice with the Arizona Cardinals in training camp, and a scan showed the extent of the injury. He decided to play through his back injury and had a follow-up scan in Week 3. The 27-year-old will have another scan on Monday to determine if he'll require offseason surgery. Surprisingly, Pittman only missed one game in 2024, although his back injury certainly played a part in what was a down season for his standards. He finished with 69 receptions on 111 targets for 808 yards -- his lowest total since his rookie season in 2020 -- and only three touchdowns in 16 games. Second-year quarterback Anthony Richardson's own injuries and inaccuracy didn't help Pittman's cause in 2024.Source: FOX 59 - Mike Chappell

Josh Downs Productive On Large Target Share Sunday
Josh Downs caught 10 of his 13 targets for 94 yards during Sunday's Week 18 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Colts' passing attack has seen a significant boost ever since quarterback Joe Flacco took over for the injured Anthony Richardson (back), but Downs truly took his productivity to the next level during Sunday's season finale. He finishes the 2024 campaign with 72 catches, 803 yards, and five touchdowns. Each of these three marks represented season-highs, topping the totals he delivered as a rookie last year. Downs has firmly established himself as an appealing 1B option with the Colts, pairing nicely alongside their 1A receiver, Michael Pittman Jr. The UNC product will rank as a high-end WR3 when 2025 fantasy football drafts kick off next summer, and he has even greater appeal in dynasty leagues.Source: RotoBaller
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce Catches Team-Leading Seventh TD Pass On Sunday
Alec Pierce did his usual thing on Sunday, catching a deep 40-yard touchdown pass on the team's opening drive and adding another 17-yard catch in the 26-23 win over the Jaguars. Despite only 37 receptions on the season, the 24-year-old finishes as the Colts' receiving leader with 824 yards and seven touchdowns. With blazing speed, he led the league in average depth of target (aDOT) which helped him rack up the yardage. The former second-round draft pick will likely fill a similar role in 2025 but, unless he can garner additional targets, it's hard to envision outpacing this season's production. Nevertheless, he should be worthy of at least a bench spot in next year's drafts, as he can be a viable (yet volatile) fill-in when the bye weeks hit.Source: ESPN
