Logan Stanley Could Return To Action Friday
Source: John Lu
Winnipeg Jets defenseman Logan Stanley (undisclosed) is considered a game-time decision for Friday's meeting with the Dallas Stars. With Josh Morrissey (upper body) also sidelined, Winnipeg opened the second-round series with two defensemen absent, but both could return for Friday's Game 2 after Jets head coach Scott Arniel noted that the two had "a good skate" on Friday. Stanley has missed two games, with Haydn Fleury coming into the lineup as his replacement. Fleury opened his postseason scoring account with an assist in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Stars. Stanley has not yet recorded any points in five appearances.Josh Morrissey Will Be A Game-Time Decision Friday
Source: John Lu
Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey (upper body) is set to be a game-time decision for Friday's contest against the Dallas Stars. He was also considered a game-time call for Wednesday's series opener, but Morrissey was not in the lineup, missing his first game this postseason. Colin Miller stepped in for him on the blue line, logging 17:56 of action. He finished with three shots on goal, two blocks, and a minus-one rating. Neal Pionk once again led the Jets defense in playing time with 25:08, including 5:14 on the power play.Alex Pietrangelo A Game-Time Decision Thursday
Source: SinBin.vegas
Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Alex Pietrangelo (illness) is a game-time decision for Thursday's matchup with the Edmonton Oilers. He missed the series opener as a late scratch due to an illness, but Pietrangelo was able to skate on Thursday morning. Golden Knights head coach Bruce Cassidy said that there is a chance the veteran rearguard will play in Game 2. Pietrangelo's return would give a nice lift to the team. Over six postseason appearances this year, Pietrangelo has recorded three points (one goal, two assists), nine shots, 15 blocks, and six hits with a plus-two rating. Kaedan Korczak figures to remain in the lineup if Pietrangelo is not ready to return on Thursday night.Pavel Dorofeyev Won't Play In Game 2
Source: SinBin.vegas
Vegas Golden Knights winger Pavel Dorofeyev (undisclosed) has been ruled out for Game 2 against the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday night. Vegas will be without its regular-season top goal-scorer for a third consecutive game. Dorofeyev's absence has elevated the fantasy value of Victor Olofsson, who has begun to see time on the first power-play unit. However, the Swedish winger has not been productive in the postseason, recording only one assist with seven shots on goal in five appearances. Dorofeyev remains day-to-day, with his next opportunity to return coming on Saturday, when the series moves to Edmonton.Eetu Luostarinen Stretches Point Streak To Four Games
Source: ESPN
Florida Panthers forward Eetu Luostarinen posted two assists in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs, extending his point streak to four games. Florida's third line continued to purr, and Luostarinen helped both of his running mates, Brad Marchand and Anton Lundell, on the scoreboard. The Panthers would certainly prefer to have their top guns firing on all cylinders, but they will be happy with what the third line, led by Luostarinen, has done in these playoffs. Luostarinen has recorded two goals and eight points, doing all of his scoring over the past four games. He shares the postseason scoring lead on the team with Lundell, while Marchand is just behind them with seven points.Morgan Rielly Registers Two Assists In Wednesday's Win
Source: ESPN
Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly helped to set up two goals in Wednesday's 4-3 victory over the Florida Panthers. He collected a power-play assist on a Max Pacioretty goal late in the first period and made it a multi-assist game for himself by helping Max Domi score in the second frame. This marked Rielly's seventh career multi-assist game in the postseason, placing him second in franchise history, with only Borje Salming (9) achieving more. Rielly is also closing in on Salming in the scoring charts, needing just four more points to become Toronto's all-time leader in playoff scoring among defensemen. With the Maple Leafs now 2-0 up against Florida, Rielly will get plenty of chances to reach the historic mark this year. He has recorded six points (three goals, three assists), 14 shots, and 20 blocks in eight games during the postseason.Max Pacioretty Extends Multi-Point Streak To Three Games
Source: ESPN
Toronto Maple Leafs left wing Max Pacioretty continued his renaissance with another multi-point effort in Wednesday's 4-3 victory in Game 2 against the Florida Panthers. He scored a power-play goal to tie the game at one and set up William Nylander for his sixth postseason goal of the year. This gives Pacioretty three consecutive multi-point games. He has suddenly come alive in the playoffs, giving a boost to the second line. Through six postseason appearances, the veteran has notched two goals and four assists with nine shots on goal. Pacioretty's high productivity has been a welcome bonus for the Maple Leafs, who will take a 2-0 lead to Florida when the series continues on Friday.Mitchell Marner Hits Game-Winner Wednesday Night
Source: ESPN
Toronto Maple Leafs right wing Mitchell Marner scored the game-winning goal in Wednesday's 4-3 victory against the Florida Panthers. The Maple Leafs struggled to shake off the Panthers on home ice, and Anton Lundell tied the game early in the third period, but Marner responded just 17 seconds later, giving Toronto a 2-0 series lead. Marner has earned a point in each of the first two games of the matchup, continuing his prolific postseason campaign. He is tied for second among all skaters with eight assists and has totaled 10 points in eight games. Marner's next point will tie him with Wendel Clark for the fifth-most postseason points in Maple Leafs history.Mark Scheifele Returns With A Goal Wednesday
Source: ESPN
Winnipeg Jets center Mark Scheifele (upper body) enjoyed a scoring return in Wednesday's Game 1 against the Dallas Stars, netting the team's second goal in a 3-2 defeat. After missing two games due to an upper-body injury, Scheifele was sharp throughout the night, firing off seven shots on goal. He finally got one past Jake Oettinger in the Dallas crease at the 17:35 mark in the second period. Scheifele, who also recorded one block and one hit, proved his health by logging a postseason-high 22:36 time on ice. With his goal on Wednesday, Scheifele continued the trend of scoring points exclusively in home games during these playoffs. He has recorded three goals and four assists in four appearances at the Canada Life Centre.Jake Oettinger Collects Victory With 29 Saves
Source: ESPN
Dallas Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger opened second-round action against the Winnipeg Jets with a 29-save effort in a 3-2 road win on Wednesday night. Oettinger and the Stars handed Winnipeg its first home loss of the postseason. Following a shaky start to the playoffs, Oettinger has heated up, allowing two or fewer goals in three of the past four games. He has improved his goals-against average to 2.75 and has posted a .914 save percentage, while going 5-3 across eight starts. Dallas is in good hands, and Wednesday's win on the road puts the team in control of the series.Mikko Rantanen Nets Another Hat Trick Wednesday
Source: ESPN
Dallas Stars winger Mikko Rantanen scored a second straight hat trick in Wednesday's Game 1 against the Winnipeg Jets, pushing his team to a 3-2 victory. There had previously been only two occasions in Stanley Cup Playoffs history where a player had scored back-to-back hat tricks. Rantanen's efforts in front of the net gave Dallas a 3-1 lead from a 1-0 deficit, making him the first player in franchise history with a natural hat trick in the playoffs. We have seen incredible work from Rantanen over the past few games, as he has posted three-plus points in four consecutive outings. The Finnish superstar is now the postseason leader in goals (8) and points (15).Mark Jankowski To Be A Game-Time Call Thursday
Source: Walt Ruff
Carolina Hurricanes center Mark Jankowski (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision for Thursday's showdown against the Washington Capitals. The Hurricanes hope to have him available for Game 2 after losing him early to an undisclosed injury in Tuesday's series opener. Jankowski has made three postseason appearances this year, averaging 11:21 of ice time as a member of the fourth line. He has tallied one assist with four shots, three blocks, and two hits. Jack Roslovic, who has also posted one assist in three playoff appearances, or Tyson Jost, who has yet to feature in the postseason, will take Jankowski's spot in the lineup if he isn't in game shape on Thursday.Connor Hellebuyck Puts Home Win Streak To Test Wednesday
Source: Ken Wiebe
Winnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck begins the second-round series against the Dallas Stars on Wednesday with a perfect home record in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. In Winnipeg's series versus the St. Louis Blues, the home side won each game, although Hellebuyck had trouble keeping the puck out of the net. He gave up at least three goals in three of four home games, registering a lowly .885 save percentage. Hellebuyck was pulled in all three road contests against the Blues, so it has been a bumpy ride for the MVP candidate in the playoffs. The series against Dallas promises to be another challenging matchup for Hellebuyck, but he can draw confidence from his regular-season performance. Hellebuyck was 3-1-0 against the Stars this year, allowing only four goals.Miro Heiskanen Continues To Sit Wednesday
Source: Mike Heika
Dallas Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen (knee) will not play in Game 1 against the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday night. Following Saturday's epic Game 7 win over the Colorado Avalanche, Stars head coach Pete DeBoer said that he expects Heiskanen to return to action during the second round, but his absence will stretch at least one game longer. He will sit out a 40th straight game while working his way back from knee surgery. Thomas Harley is set to maintain a huge role in the Stars defense. He has been impactful at both ends, registering five points (two goals, three assists), 21 blocks, and 11 hits in seven postseason outings this year.Anthony Stolarz Won't Play In Game 2
Source: ESPN
Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz (upper body) has been ruled out for Wednesday's Game 2 against the Florida Panthers. He was injured in the series opener on Monday, and while Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube initially did not rule Stolarz out for Wednesday's game, Joseph Woll has now been confirmed as the starter. Matt Murray will back him up. On Wednesday, Berube said he "didn't have an answer" as to whether Stolarz would be available again in the second round. The 31-year-old netminder is sporting a 4-2 record this postseason, having allowed 2.19 goals with a .901 save percentage.
