1 month agoLos Angeles Kings forward Adrian Kempe (upper body) is considered a game-time decision for Saturday's contest against Dallas. He could be back in action after missing five games with an upper-body issue. Kings head coach Jim Hiller has mentioned Kempe as "definitely a possibility" for the game. Getting him back would be a massive boost for the Kings, as Kempe has been enjoying a superb campaign. He's among the team's leading scorers, with 51 points (19 goals, 32 assists) produced across 57 outings. 1 month agoBoston Bruins defenseman Hampus Lindholm (lower body) will return to the lineup on Saturday against Pittsburgh. He will end a nine-game absence and replace Parker Wotherspoon. Lindholm is a big piece for Boston's top four, but the 30-year-old Swedish blue-liner hasn't had much offensive success this season. He has registered 19 points (one goal, 18 assists) in 56 contests. 1 month agoDallas Stars center Roope Hintz had a game-high three points in Friday's 6-2 road victory over the Ducks. He produced a power-play goal and had two assists. Hintz finished the game with two power-play points in total -- his first with the man advantage since Jan. 23. The Finnish forward had a really rough ride in February, but he's been back in form in recent games, registering three goals and three assists in his last four appearances. He's Dallas' top goal-scorer with 26 markers and has posted 56 points overall across 63 outings. It's been a solid campaign for Hintz, who has a chance to post his third consecutive season with at least 35 goals and assists.Source: ESPN
1 month agoArizona Coyotes goaltender Connor Ingram registered his sixth shutout of the season in Friday's 4-0 win over Detroit, tying Pittsburgh's Tristan Jarry for most this season in the NHL. He's only the fourth Coyotes netminder to get as many shutouts over a single season. It last happened in 2011-12 when Mike Smith matched a franchise record with eight shutouts. A 28-save effort on Friday helped Ingram end a personal nine-game losing skid. He's now on an 18-16-3 record for the campaign and has logged a 2.78 goals-against average with a .911 save percentage.Source: ESPN
1 month agoSeattle Kraken forward Jaden Schwartz suffered an upper-body injury in Friday's 3-0 loss to Winnipeg. The veteran got hurt early into the game, exiting after logging only 3:09 of ice time. Schwartz has been slumping for several weeks, but he's one of only five forwards on the team with double-digit goals and assists for the season. In 47 appearances, he's posted 11 goals and 12 assists. Andre Burakovsky might get a chance to rejoin the top six if Schwartz won't be available on Tuesday versus Vegas.Source: Seattle Kraken PR
1 month agoNew York Rangers defenseman Jacob Trouba (lower body) will be out of the lineup for 2-3 weeks, Rangers president and general manager Chris Drury announced on Friday. The 30-year-old has missed only two games so far this season, notching 22 points (three goals, 19 assists) across 60 outings with 165 hits and 170 blocks. He's one of only two players in the league with at least 150 hits and 130 blocks for the season. Erik Gustafsson will move up in the lineup to replace Trouba on the second defensive pairing in Saturday's clash with St. Louis.Source: The New York Post
1 month agoVegas Golden Knights defenseman Alec Martinez has undergone a lower-body procedure and will be out "short-term;" according to general manager Kelly McCrimmon. Martinez was placed on Injured Reserve on Wednesday. He's been out for one game already and won't make a quick return, but it looks like the veteran will be available for the end of the regular season. Martinez has totaled 10 points (four goals, 12 assists) in 45 games with 152 blocks. Vegas has just brought in Noah Hanifin from Calgary, so the backline should be able to cope just fine with Martinez's absence. Hanifin logged 21:33 of ice time as a member of the first defensive pairing in his debut on Thursday versus Vancouver.Source: Jesse Granger
1 month agoSan Jose Sharks center Logan Couture (lower body) won't return to the lineup in 2023-24. The Sharks captain has been out since Jan. 31, and Couture has now said he won't be returning this season. San Jose has basically been without Couture for the entire year already, as the 34-year-old has been limited to just six appearances. With Tomas Hertl shipped to Vegas, Mikael Granlund has taken over first-line center duties in San Jose, with plenty of youngsters poised to fill a big role in the top six for the rest of the season.Source: NBC Sports Bay Area
1 month agoColorado Avalanche winger Valeri Nichushkin (personal) will rejoin the lineup on Friday versus Minnesota. He's back in action following a 22-game absence. Nichushkin last played on Jan. 10, entering the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program soon after. The Russian winger was having an outstanding season before dropping out of the lineup, recording 42 points (22 goals, 20 assists) in 40 games. He rejoins the action on a new-look second line, which will also feature Jonathan Drouin and newcomer Casey Mittelstadt, who was acquired from Buffalo earlier in the week. 1 month agoColorado Avalanche left wing Zach Parise will miss Friday's game against Minnesota with a lower-body injury. The 39-year-old is considered day-to-day. Parise comes out of the lineup after logging four goals and seven points in 15 appearances with the Avalanche. Following a quiet start in Denver, Parise has notched six points (three goals, three assists) in his last eight games. Miles Wood will take his position on the third line on Friday. With 21 points (nine goals, 12 assists) posted in 59 games, Wood has had a decent season, but he's been held scoreless for eight consecutive games.Source: Jesse Montano
1 month agoAccording to Derek Lee of The Hockey News, Anaheim Ducks forward Mason McTavish (lower body) isn't sure if he will return to action on Friday versus Dallas. McTavish took part in the morning skate but could remain out on Friday, with Ducks head coach Greg Cronin also unsure if McTavish will play against the Stars. The 21-year-old, who sits on 40 points (17 goals, 23 assists) through 52 appearances, has been out for two games. Anaheim could really use some extra bodies in the attack, as Trevor Zegras (ankle) and Leo Carlsson (upper body) will remain out of the lineup on Friday. Ducks head coach Greg Cronin hasn't confirmed his availability, but Terry took part in the morning skate, which is an encouraging sign regarding his potential comeback. Terry has missed three of the last five games with an upper-body injury. He had just heated up with several multi-point efforts before getting hurt. 1 month agoWinnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck (illness) will be available for Friday's contest against Seattle. He's been battling an illness, which initially left Hellebuyck with a question mark ahead of Friday's matchup, but he's officially good to go. However, it's not completely clear who will guard the crease for Winnipeg on Friday. It's the beginning of a back-to-back for the team, and backup Laurent Brossoit might get the first game. A meeting with Vancouver will follow on Saturday. Hellebuyck has performed at an elite level throughout the campaign, going 29-13-3. He's allowed two or fewer goals in 25 of his past 37 starts, registering a 2.29 goals-against average for the season with a .922 save percentage and three shutouts.Source: Winnipeg Jets
1 month agoThe Vegas Golden Knights have acquired center Tomas Hertl (knee) from the San Jose Sharks. The team gave up its 2025 first-round pick and prospect forward David Edstrom in a deal to get him while also receiving a 2025 third-round pick and a 2027 third-round pick from the Sharks. San Jose retains 17 percent of Hertl's salary as part of the trade. Hertl, a 17th pick by the Sharks in 2012, moves on from San Jose after representing the team in 712 regular-season contests. He had 218 goals and 484 points with the Sharks, including 34 points (15 goals, 19 assists) in 48 appearances in 2023-24. Hertl hasn't played since the All-Star break due to a knee injury, and it's unclear when he will be ready to return, but he's a big addition for the defending champions, and his numbers should get a boost now that he's playing on a much better team.Source: ESPN
1 month agoThe New Jersey Devils have acquired goaltender Jake Allen from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for a conditional third-round pick that can turn into a second-rounder based on Allen's games played with the Devils. The Canadiens are retaining 50% of Allen's $3.85 cap hit, a hit that runs through next season. Allen has struggled over the last two seasons, most recently posting a 3.65 goals-against average and an .892 save percentage across 21 starts, going 6-12-3 in that time. He was part of a three-goalie tandem with Montreal alongside Sam Montembeault and Cayden Primeau but could take over the No. 1 role with a Devils team that has received a 31st-ranked .883 Sv% from their goaltenders this season.Source: Pierre LeBrun
